We look forward to meeting you on your first visit to our office. Your initial visit will consist of a thorough examination and a discussion of potential treatment options. This will give us insight into your orthodontic needs. If necessary for our initial diagnosis, photographs and/or x-rays may be taken during this appointment.

At the initial examination we will address the following questions that cover the basics of orthodontic treatment. We encourage you to ask questions as well.

  • Is there a condition which orthodontics can address?
  • Is treatment needed now or should it be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption, or other factors have occurred?
  • What treatment procedures will be used to correct the problem?
  • Do any teeth need to be removed?
  • How long will treatment take?
  • How much will treatment cost?
  • What are my payment options?
We can usually answer these questions during the initial examination. We will address specific areas after careful analysis of the diagnostic records which will be taken at the second visit. We feel that it is important to analyze each patient's specific needs because in-depth planning leads to superior results and higher patient satisfaction.

We will try to make sure that our patients leave the office with a clear understanding of their specific needs, of what treatment will consist, how long it will take, and how much will it cost. Also, we will answer any additional questions.

  • If you have orthodontic insurance, bring your insurance card. By providing this information at the first visit, we will be able to give you an estimate of your costs.

Records Appointment

The appointment when the diagnostic records are completed. This typically includes a clinical examination; digital study models of the teeth, photos of the patient's face and teeth, and X-rays. This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care.

Regular Appointments

The appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes from one to two hours. You'll then see us at regular intervals 8 to 12 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 20 to 40 minutes. Our office hours in the Madison office are as follows: every Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM; every Thursday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM; one Monday per month from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM; one Saturday per month from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Our office hours in the West Caldwell office are as follows: every Friday from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM; one Monday per month from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM; every other Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM; every other Saturday from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Patients are seen by appointment only unless an emergency arises. We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately. Cancel only if it is an emergency. It is difficult to reschedule you since most appointments are made 4 to 8 weeks in advance.

Payment & Office Policies

Cost

Financial considerations should not be an obstacle to a beautiful smile. When it comes to you or your child's treatment, there is just too much at stake to base your decision on the lowest possible price. We are dedicated to making certain that you can afford the very best! You do not have to settle for less than you want or deserve.

The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problem. We will discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have payment plans to suit different budgets, including a zero-down-payment option. We will also help you reclaim money from your insurance company by filing the necessary paperwork that these companies require. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable.

Fees

In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we offer a wide range of payment options:

  • If full payment is made at the onset of treatment, we offer a fee discount.
  • Zero-down-payment options are available.
  • To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over a period of months.
  • For your convenience, we accept payment by VISA, MASTERCARD, and AMERICAN EXPRESS.
  • In cases of serious delinquency, treatment will be discontinued, although we will make every effort to accommodate patients with temporary difficulties.
Insurance

If you have insurance, we will help you to determine the coverage you have available. We do not accept assignment from your insurance company. Professional care is provided to you, our patient, and not to an insurance company. Thus, the insurance company is responsible to the patient and the patient is responsible to the doctor. We will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf.
